What is a Curriculum?
A curriculum is a plan of learning; the experience, opportunities and activities that are on offer within an educational framework to help children learn and develop.
At every session each child has the freedom to engage in a range of play activities for all areas of learning and experience.
Learning and experience are provided during each session, these cover the following areas of learning:
All CBCS's member groups are registered with the local authority and OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) and comply with the Children Act 1989.
Children who have special educational needs or disabilities have access to all areas of learning alongside others.
Children's progress towards the Early Learning Goals will be at different rates and individual achievements may vary.
It is important to remember that children's experiences at home contribute greatly to their learning achievements.
A good partnership between parents/carers and the centre is vital to support your child's learning.
Your child's progress will be assessed and recorded through frequent observations and these will be shared with you.
The curriculum helps your child make good progress towards the Early Learning Goals developed by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
Well balanced snacks and meals are provided and sample menus are available on request.
Should your child have any dietary needs, please speak to a staff member and these will be catered for.
If you have any questions about the nursery and the childcare provision we offer, please call us and we'll answer all your queries.
